Good bye 2010 Formula One season… (Part 1)
The 2010 Formula One season has been a strange one with twists and turns, and surprises unwrapping at the track at every other weekend. At one after the other race, action and drama kept exhilarating and captivating the race fans all through the year.
As of now, the season has finally come to a close, the caravan of cars are ready to enter another awe-inspiring and nerve tickling year, beginning this March with the season opener, Bahrain Grand Prix. Before entering the next season, let’s peep into the past and cherish some great moments along with foreseeing the 2011 season.
The ever glorious Formula One
All of you who have loved Formula One for a long time, and read a gazillion times in the past few years that the series is losing its glory, must be relieved now. After decades, one has the privilege to witness a season as nail-biting and awe-inspiring as 2010, which has given a new life to the sport.
Unlike last year, when the Brawn GP driver Jenson Button won six out of the first seven races and wrapped up the championship a race before the last one, this year the tight battle continued till the very end of the season. The top five drivers and the leading three teams kept engaged in a brutal combat which was far from over till the exciting last round at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
This year, Formula One has pumped up a new thrill and mania in its fans, which is expected to stay for a long time now.

The crownless king… Bernie Ecclestone
Last month some muggers attacked the Formula One Supremo, Bernie Ecclestone. They hit him hard, pushed him down on the road, snatched all cash and took his watch and other jewellery worth nearly $400000. However, the old man is far from upset. What he achieved all through the season is enough to keep him happy for a very long time.
He started working on his dream of taking the series across the globe a few years back and this year he saw a large part of his wish come to life. The newly introduced Singapore and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’s were among the biggest successes of the season. The introduction of the Korean track, this season, was another success despite having gone through so many uncertainties and issues. Moreover, the 80-year-old has also successfully signed the deals for next year’s Indian Grand Prix, and the U.S. round to be held on 2012, while plans for the Russian race, a track in Africa and another race for Italy, the Roman Grand Prix, are also in the pipe line.
With so much to cherish and yet so much more to achieve soon, there is simply no stopping to the old man who knows how to make anything spell ‘success’.

The sizzling 2011 platter
The best thing that has come out of the 2010 season is the great hype for the 2011 season. After having seen an intense battle this year, the level of expectation from the series has reached to new heights. 2011 surely has a lot to live up to.
The fans have been served with so much this season that they have been spoilt to the limit. The topsy-turvy points fluctuations, the intensity of rivalry, the on and off track drama and the great racing spectacles all through the season kept serving the race lovers with an matched treat that they hope to see continuing next season also.
The 2011’s grid is to hold five champions at the same time, including the seven times world champion, Michael Schumacher, the two times title winner, Fernando Alonso, the phenomenal winner of 2008, Lewis Hamilton, the 2009 title winner, Jenson Button and the last but of course not the least, the youngest world champion of the sport’s history, Sebastian Vettel. With such a great savouring Formula One platter in sight, the race followers say good bye to a great season in anticipation of another remarkable year ahead.
To be continued…
