  1. Try petsmart! They have just what you need.

  2. it is for mice, not for rats, rats get big and need more space to run around!

  3. Mice are super smart and lots of fun for breeding as one can get lots of different colors if one knows how to find other good mice to prevent inbreeding.

I used an aquarium with lots and lots of shredded newspaper as they now use safer soya inks. They loved it they would tunnel in it. A mouse will pretend it cannot get out of a cage to escape when you go to sleep or when you are not around. And they can chew through almost anything including the plastic in that cage. I used an aquarium with the right type of lid made for it with wire mesh and an edge so it went on like a shoe box with great success anything else they seemed to escape from and I also put a weight on it. But be sure to clean regularily if you want them to be healthy and know what a complete along with proper diet is. Too much wet food can mold in the cage and make them very ill. If you use an aquarium be sure to not put it in a place where it will get too much heat or cold and will get adequate air ventilation through the top.

  4. For a rat yeah....mice will get through the bars though..

  5. For a mouse it isn't "bad" but a 10 gallon aquarium would be better.  A Rat, however needs a lot more room to run around as they can get very large.

  6. Not a good cage for rats at all! Is probably fine for mice as long as they are large enough as so they don't crawl thru the bars.
