Good camcorder reference sites regarding info on filters and/or basic usage? ?

I just bought a new Canon HV-30. All of the filming will be done outdoors, either next to the water or on a boat. Does anyone have any references for newbies regarding filters? or recommendations on filters for this camera in bright conditions? Thanks for your help.

For the most part the filters won't really be necessary - but if you must, check either the clear (to protect the lens) or a UV lens (protect the lens AND cut UV)... then again, it is fun to play with some of the others neutral density, polarizing, etc.)... but you probably won't use them often.
