Good cameras for a 13 year old?

Question

My sister graduated from gr 7 today! and i was really happy for her im 17 almost 18!!!!! cant wait but anyways i decided i would have to get her soemthing bigmoney isnt that big of a deal but something under 300 250 without taxes would be awesoem cuz then i coudl get her liek other stuff to! We live in canada vancouver to be exact so she loves purple and turqousie so anythign in those colors would be great! Nikon Coolpix S210 8.0MP Digital Camera - Plum i heard that was a good camera purple her friend has it she loved it so is that good ? any batterie problems? shes really responsile she hasnt lost a thing ive given to her shes had her ipod for 6 years and she would never do anything like bad with it she already has one but she and her friends like to take pic when they jump up and then get caugth with there hair flying and everythingidont get the point in it but they all love it and like her camera doesnt do that good so woudl that be good 4 that

I got my camera at 13. The fuji fine pix, from e.g. Jessop's Store (which has a warranty for breakages) and you can get it in red,  blue, green, orange (mine!) purple-black and pink. Cost me £90. REALLY REALLY good camera. Nice looking, easy to use and good pictures. Is supplied with a lithium battery and charger. Longer lasting and more enviromentally friendly. You can get different modes- party, natural...etc. Action mode will capture the hair perfectly! Lucky girl having a sister like you!

I suggest the Olympus Stylus 850SW. Why? Because its waterproof to 10 feet and shockproof to a 5 foot drop. Its a go-anywhere camera suited to an active 13 yr. old.
