Hi all. I have a 2001Monte Carlo. I would like to spend $1,000 in speakers while the rest will go to the alpine, Ipod etc. I want my car to sound like a concert. I would like to be heard 3 or so blocks away. I don't want just bass but mainly treble.

Thanks for helping

  1. I would like to help, but when you state you want to be heard 3 blocks away, it killed it for me.  Being disrespectful and invading other people's space with your music is one of many reasons car audio is not taken seriously.

Little bass and mostly treble is not a quality system.  Might as well get a pair of ID horns and go at it.

  2. I say go with kenwood they will give you the clarity that you are looking for and bass to go with it.

  3. Let me tell you right now, good luck finding high/mid range speakers that u can hear from "3 or so blocks" away.  If u want to be heard from far away, u gotta produce the low tones, SUBS.  U should look into a small powered sub, like a single 10 or 12, that wont rattle ur car but will cover all low end frequencies. then use the rest for speakers.  Id recommend Infiinity references, it would be about $250 for 4 of them.  give those boys an amplifier and ull be set.

  4. buy Fi x*x subs or something that has great SPL ratings
