I think the question is self explanatory. If anyone can give me a link to a big list or something that'd be great, but I'd love any suggestions people have.

  1. The University of Tennessee has one of the best forensic anthropology programs in the country. It really depends on what you're looking for though. Undergrad? Grad school? If you're looking for grad schools then what area of anthropology (cultural, linguistic, physical or archeology)?

Over all, the top programs in the country are University of Chicago, UCLA and Berkley. There are other schools that have great programs too. Texas A&M has a great Marine Archeology program. The University of Kentucky has a very respected program too. There are literally tons of choices available. Just make sure that the school you choose has a program that will prepare you for graduate work (if you're undergrad). I hope this helps.

    Best of luck.

  2. Are you based in the states or the UK? In the UK anthropology and archaeology are very different disciplines

  3. I am from Pennsylvania and I know that the best school in my state would be Penn State University. They have state of the art equipment and receive the most grant money from the state towards Anthropology.

  4. you need to be more specific as to what you want to specialize in. i get a little tired of these questions where almost every university has a program to study anthropology and archaeology. what is your main interest in these fields: forensics, primatology, classical archaeology, aegean archaeology, historical/colonial archaeology, cultural anthropology, egyptology, near eastern/biblical archaeology, prehistoric european archaeology, anthropological linguistics, biological anbthropology, paleo-anthropology, meso-american archaeology, andean archaeology, oceanic anthropology/archaeology, epigraphy, ancient languages?

  5. Berekely, UCLA, Univ. Chicago (Big Three).

  6. Consider Carnegie-Mellon University.
