Question:

Good colours to paint a bedroom?

I'm planning to paint my bedroom sometime within the next week or so, but I have no idea what kind of colour scheme to go with. Originally I was thinking about orange walls, but would they be too overpowering (not bright orange...something paler)? Or maybe lilac? I'm open to any suggestions. =)

  1. violet and baby blue and pale yellow polk a dots or something with those colors that would be CUTE!

  2. lilac, pale green, pale pink  r nice.  try orange if u like .the other materials like curtains should b white .  just test &c .  i used to change clrs every 3yrs.   but now ,i've painted pearl white .   only thing with clrs like orange is, it makes the room looks smaller& if the sun is too much , then u feel hot becos of the bright atmosphere

  3. sounds crazy but my walls are lime green. it's not overpowering at all. i love it! before my walls were a deep purple and it made my room look smaller, and just odd. a nice color like the green gave it some life! and i got fuzzy curtains to match!!! =]

  4. My room is bright orange and it's not overpowering at all (keep the roof white). Orange is supposed to energize you and make you happy as well.

  5. Color choice depends on personal choice and your "color personality"-:) What colors make you good, happy, relaxed?  What color do you find yourself gravitating toward?  If you like orange, then I would accent one wall orange and then the others a complimentary color such as lilac or pale blue or peach. Most Home Improvement centers have a color kiosk in their paint dept where customers can play with color chips. So you can choose complimentary colors. You can go to various paint store websites and play with their design software. Just remember...what you see on your monitor is a lot different than seeing the actual paint chip in person. Also viewing paint in a can is a lot different than viewing it up on a wall and dried. If you find a color you might like, purchase a quart or smaller, take it home brush out a 4'x4' section and let it dry. Then decide if you like it. You can always paint over it.
