This visa allows you to enter or remain in Australia on the basis of your married or de-facto relationship with your partner:

on a temporary visa (usually for a waiting period of approximately two (2) years from the date you applied for the visa)

on a permanent visa if, after the waiting period (if applicable), your partner relationship still exists and you are still eligible for this visa.

Your partner must provide sponsorship for you.

Persons who can apply:

This visa is for you if you want to enter Australia on the basis of your relationship with your partner. Your partner must be one of the following:

an Australian citizen

an Australian permanent resident

an eligible New Zealand citizen.

dont go to an agent you can do it urself it will be faster and you can save urself some time

this page will tell you all the forms you need there are only 3 or 4 and you can download and print  and is also has a checklist so u can check to see if u have  everthing

basically you and your partner will fill certain forms with ur personal details then u will be asked for proof of relation ship ( you can do this with wedding pics video other pics and fone records if u r calling from a pco then just keep ur receipts )

all documents will need to be attested and there r guidlines on how to do this

this link will have everything u will need to do a medical and police clearance but immig will send you forms for this as soon as u have lodged ur papers and one more thing

u will receive a letter from immig  stating they have received ur application if after 9 months u have heard nothing email them and ask them what is happening

if ur spouse is in aust then they should be able to help u  lodge it  dont do to some stupid agent coz agents will not help u they will make u run around

Spouse temporary visa (subclass 309)  is what you and your partner will apply for the spouse being sponsored will be the primary applicant
