i went to abroad last 2006 and last yr my apllication for leave was finished and my i forgot to give my resignation letter bfore i left the philippines.

Well I think maybe y9ou should have tried to work it out with the school in the phillippines just so that they knew it was an innocent mistake.  Now wha tyou will have to do is just use your gift of gab work your way into you new postion.  Regardless of what nayone says you have experience working in the field AWOL or no AWOL just take old of the interview and make it work in your favor...you can always turn the negative into a postive :)

explain to them the situation but don't say that you forgot to give the letter. tell them that you didnt have the chance to give it to them because of X reason; therefore, it will seem much more believable.
