I am 14 yrs old and I am pretty good at golf. I wanna try out for my high school golf team at the end of July and I need to get better. I know getting better at your short game is the best way to lower my scores. So i have some questions. Are there any good drills that will help my short game if I practice them?If so what are the drills? Also how long should I practice on a putting green everyday. I usually play golf from 8am to 3 or 4pm. And I usually only practice for 20-25 mins. So how long should I practice any help would be appreciated

  1. im 14 also! some drills you could do would be go on a putting green and stick a tee in a difficult spot on the green. practice trying to hit the tee from different locations. if you can hit the tee you will be able to putt the ball in the heart of the cup everytime. and for chipping i dont think there is any one specific drill i would recommend because you just have to expirement with different shots  for a while to get comfortable with your wedges. i would practice for two hours hitting on the range and on the putting green and then go play 9 holes or so. best of luck to you!

  2. Lots of drills you can do and based on your age I assume you can't afford to pay for lessons or buy DVDs and stuff that may help.

I am a qualified Golf Coach and can help you with a few drills.

Is there anyway you can contact me through this medium and I would be happy to send you some short game drills?

Edited not: You can go to http://www.playthelie.com/challenge.html and sign up for my 6 weeks of free online coaching.  Most of it is concentrated around the short game.

And you can also putt on a carpet.  This is very good for getting your putting stroke right.
