I tried roxio mydvd and it didnt let me put many videos on a 4.7 gb dvd (the files I wanted on were a total of about 300mb) and it took forever encoding them, are there any good softwares out that can make good menus with audio, make efficient use of space and burn quickly?

  4. i use "convertxtodvd" it will let me put 4 films on a dvd with menu .or the equivalent of 6or 7 hours of shorter programs.

it is not free ,but you can have a free 30 day trial(it puts a watermark on the videos,)

if you decide to try it i suggest you download "k-lite codec pack"which will cover almost every format you want to copy.

it will convert and burn 4 films in approx 2 hours on my PC.

    vista with 4GB ram.

it may take longer on yours but i still think it is one of if not the fastest programs.

there are free converters available~try"cnet"this web site has most of the free software.

ps you will still need a codec pack.

    hope this helps.

  5. Nero is good, but there are others.  Come to the Sept 5th meeting.  I'm sure there will be other options.  But the size of the file often depends upon the quality.  If you reduce the quality it will probably reduce the size.  (I know Nero definitely does this.)

  6. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.
