Good easy guitar songs for me to play with my 4 year old?

I am a very basic guitar player - can strum chords. i'd like to play some nursery rhymes or songs that would appeal to my 4 year old son and that he can sing along to. any suggestions?

Nine inch nails or Rob Zombie.  I have found in my preschool "little strokers" class that the tykes really take to the beat.

Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Little Star, ABC Song, are all basic chords of G,D & C. Just start strumming those ones and the songs will fall into place. You can try it in  different keys eg E, A & D, with similar results, but best keep it simple to start with.  Most simple songs have these chords. When you get a bit more adventurous, add an F and or Am or Em chords and you progress onto a lot of Pink Floyd classics. Most songs that you hear have very basic structures with very basic chords. It's how they are played & produced, that makes the difference.  It's all easy with a good ear & practice.

ahmm..I can't suggest what's good because there's so many nursery rhymes but I suggest you visit www.ultimate-guitar.com, it has list of chords and tabs of your search. just type the  nursery rhyme you prefer and select "Song names" from the drop-down list, it will display all the chords and tabs related to your search, just click the the item you want. hope it'll help you.

Many children's songs are based on just 3 chords.  You can use D/G/A, G/C/D, or A/D/E (whichever set is easiest for you and fits in your voice range).  Start with the dominant key (the first one listed) and then play until you hear a chord change.  With only 3 chords to choose from, you'll quickly pick it up.
