My cousin is going into the eighth grade, and she cam up with a few ideas for science fair, and so she asked me to post them on here(She is on vacation with her family, so no computers.) They both have to do with food and people.

1) Which lifestyle is actually healthier for you? A normal meat and vegetables person, or a vegetation.

2) Does eating nothing but health food effect your mood, and the way you do things?

  1. I've done many science fairs in my life, and i, speaking from experience, would say i don't like either of those. To get an accurate measurment, you would have to take in all the variables to people, and eating. There's a lot of them. Which makes it a lot harder to get hard evidence in either direction. I can garrentee that if you did either of those, you are almost garenteed to get different results. Choose something with less variables, and dependents.

Edit: I've always done science projects on things like areospace, or friction, one of my favorites was rockets, and friction, including effects of angle, scratches, different engiens, and using trigonometry to find where it's going to land according to the wind.

If your dead set on food, do efects of acids, or sodas on teeth, or how ant acids work on different things, or set up a mini digestion system, with acids of human ph levels and different foods. Maybe you can figure out how long it acualy takes to dygest gum?

  2. Talk about the chemical Dihydrogen Monoxide and its properties. People will be amazed at all the stuff that this chemical is in: our homes, our food, etc.

    fun stuff.

  3. I remember doing a science fair project in grade 8 too. I went later on to toronto wide one and got bronze. My was basically based on flood. It's quite simple actually. We all know that during a flood sandbags are used and that inside it are sand. Well what you can do is fill the sandbag with other materials such as flour, cement, a mixture of sand and rock, all sorts of things (make sure you have a sicentific reasoing for each material). Them you can sew little bags and put your material in and find out. Everyone that is judging want something that will help us and is innovative and this is perfect. So it's just a extra idea.

    Hope this helps.

By the way I really love the second idea for you see kids that are obese constantly saying how food makes them feel better.
