  1. Epiphone les paul is the guitar you are looking for it is just a cheaper version of the Gibson les paul with lower grade finishing and pick ups. Both guitarist you listed you a les paul and you can get a guitar which is almost identical to their guitar for around $400-$500

  2. If you are shooting for that old school rock, then you need a Gibson Les Paul. That being said, they are not what you would call affordable. Check out the Epiphone Les Paul ( a more inexpensive version of the Gibson) Best advice I can give you is go to a music store and lay your hands on them and play all of them till you find the guitar that fits you.

  3. I think if you work hard you will definately be able to have the style of Page and Perry,

but next to a Gibson, a Fender Stratocaster is really good, but the old stuff, I would go with a Gibson with a color that suits you. You find them in Musiciansfriend.com or even Guitar Center.

Good luck with finding the right one for you!!

    Hope this helped!

  4. Fender Stratocaster all the way.  It's one of the most versatile guitars you can get, and the necks on them are very smooth and fast.  You can get an HSS Strat if you want, I have one, it rocks.  There's no guitar I'd recommend for a beginner more than a good old Strat.

  5. as a beginner i recomend  u to dont start buying very good guitars, first u would have to learn a lot aboout how to play guitar and really learn alot... & after that ,then u can buy a very good guitar, i think Ebinez its better :)

  6. Hey Bro

If you are interested in old school stuff that buy the Epiphone Les Paul.

We evaluated that guitar at the shop and plays very well, good fat sound, and very good action especially with extra light gauge .009

I own a 1963 Gibson Gold Top like Jimmie Page and when I tried this Epiphone Les Paul, I was really surprised when it first came out.

Rosewood fingerboard always have a better sustain than maple and a fatter blues rock sound.

I also have a Strat and a Jackson. I play the Jackson more often because of its active electronics and having 24 frets which is good for arpeggios and high end sustain. That is another good choice. I picked one up for $250 including hardshell case . Very good buy.

    Your choice.
