Good evening?

The Mantle goes down

The sun ain’t up

It shines pink and indigo

It was red and orange

Just a half hour ago

But now it’s fading to peach

Or maybe navy

Lighter in spots

Where the clouds are not

Green is the crest

And in days recent

This ones the best

Tonight I will faint

Tomorrow I’ll paint

Tomorrow’s break of day

I’ll color more words I say

But right now it’s definitely . . .

Navy

Or could you call it black

It’s hard to tell

With the lights in the back

A lamp post here

An airplane there

Other than that

Its pure black

Except for the green

And gun metal gray

It’s d**n near

Another day

And now the night

Has grown quiet

The stars have come out

To play about

As I count

Their endless number

And slip into

My slumber

Night!

  4. simply...............GREAT:)

  5. Smooth as silk, colored sky perfected! Kudos.

  6. Amazing!  The way you rhymed black with back, and then back with black... crazy!  Angus Young should've taken a note from you.  Why did you stop with 12 colors?

  7. Well it rhymes, it does have that unnecessary feature going for it, what it lacks is meaning.

  8. This is a nice one and you can keep this for a treasure. From beginning to end I am overwhlemed by the beauty of imageries and its colour. You have caught an evening within your lines. This is a fine work of art and as TD mentioned, the martian rain!!

  9. Wow. That took me through a spectrum of feelings.

Spectacular with a smooth sense of buoyancy.

    Bravo :)

  10. Probably one of the most enchanting poems I've read.  The colors and how they change as day become night are so aptly described that I could envision it all as I read.  It's amazing how the colors are difficult to describe from one moment to the next, yet  you have captured that essence beautifully.  This poem embraces the concept of serenity.

    Oh, Mixtli, Thank you :)
