Hi. My swimming activity thing is going to start at May 15,21,and 22.

It's part of my PE(Gym)...

So heres the story:

I don't want to go because..I might have my period. And I don't want to tell my teacher that I don't want to go because I might have my period in front of my WHOLE class.(I don't use tampons, please and thanks.)

I'm not use to showing half of my body to my class or whatever..

And I don't want any ear infection,chest infection,etc... excuses.

I've been sick for the last 2 days. (I also don't want excuses about that I'm not feeling that well BECAUSE its going to happen for the next few days which leads me feeling more better...

Anyways, got a good excuse for not going to swimming? D: (I need a excuse by the end of today, (May 13th 2008),

  1. Excuses/lies cause more trouble than they're worth. I agree with Greg W about PE teachers understanding about the monthly cycle. Approach your teacher and be honest. That shows self respect, confidence, and responsibility. Do you have any issues that make you uncomfortable with using tampons? Even if you go back to using pads all the other times, tampons are a real life saver when it comes to water activities.

  2. I wouldn't risk a false excuse, the teacher is not stupid and probably has heard every line of BS for class.

An F on your transcripts will not look good when it comes to picking a college.

    Tell them the absolute facts.

  3. some sort of water related phobia

  4. Tell your teacher that there are phirahnas in the pool when you arive at the pool.

  5. you need to privately go up to your teacher and explain.  or have your mom call your teacher.  this is a very common thing and the swimming teachers are used to it.  and then you can just tell anyone who asks that its not their business.

  6. I am a PE teacher.  Usually, a PE teacher has some sort of make up policy for when you have to miss class due to your period (or as we say "personal reasons").  Have mom write a note and ask about the make up policy.  Do not be embarassed (even if your teacher is a male)--most PE teachers also teach Health Ed. and are very aware of a girl's monthly cylce.  It is not a big deal for a teacher.

DO NOT make up a false excuse.  We've heard a million of them and lose respect for liars.

  7. Tell them you don't know how to swim or you are terrifyed of water/swimming...

I don't know if that helped or not.

    Good Luck!

  8. Come up with a hurt knee or sprained ankle that has to be rested for a few days. (And come up with an entertaining story about how you got the hurt knee) ;)

  9. i assume that your teacher is a female so i would talk to her. i'm sure she will understand, see if there is some other activity that you can participate in. although i know when i was in high school, swimming was a mandatory thing. if nothing else, maybe this will be a good time to start wearing a tampon. i can't imagine NOT using them! good luck =)
