What is a good executive search firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, or the surrounding area?

I am confused as to why you wouldn't just go to the places you want to work and ask them for employment. Why go with a middleman?

What I hate about these search firms is that you can never be sure that you will have the same job three months down the road. Why not just do research on different companies, and get hired directly by them?

edit: yes i have heard of govig and they are a reputable company. i would sign up with numerous companies to get the best results.
