Good field hockey stick!?

Hi. I am looking to buy a new field hockey stick, but there are so many out there I don't know which to look at. If you have recommendations for a good field hockey stick geared towards a defender/mid they would be greatly appreciated. I play high school field hockey, this will be my second year playing, but plan on using the stick for the rest of my years at high school.

Thanks!!!

  1. G'day, know I’m Australian, so I don't know if your American or Australian, so I don't know how long you'll be in high school for, but I’m gathering that you’ll be there for a few year's, and I’m guessing you're still growing, thus if you are then you may out grow the stick, but as for durability most sticks will do the job.

As you paly back and mid, I’d suggest getting a midi bow, this gives you enough power to take hit's but is light enough and the head is short enough to give you plenty of control.

Now as for material, you do not want wood, you can composite.

    Onto Brands,

If you’re Australian then I’d say go for kookaburra, infect if you're American and you can get kookaburra I’d definitely get one.

As for American brands I don't have much say as I’ve never used any (except for Grays), but I have heard some feed back, saying that Dita is a fairly good brand.

    Hope this helps!

  2. the composite ones are nice for driving and accuracy. some good brands are cranbarry, stx, brine. i would suggest going to a couple of sporting good stores and testing them out.
