Good first Impression at school

Question

At my last school I was someone that everyone picked on for no apparent reason. I am going to be in 8th grade this coming Fall and I want to make a good first impression. Anyone been in a similiar situation? Help, please! :D Thanks!

Just go into it confidently. When you make friends, don't let them tell you what to do. If someone picks on you, laugh it off or throw something witty back...if you act like it doesn't bother you, they'll get bored with it. I was picked on when I was younger too, all the way until my junior year of high school when I really found myself. I figured out who I was and I gained a ton of confidence. Once I was happy and confident with myself, nobody saw me as a vulnerable, easy target. You can do it! Good luck!

Wow, i'm going into 10th grade and am in the exact same situation. I'm so nervous cause i start in 4 days! anyway, u just need to talk to people and be yourself. if ur shy like me, this can be very difficult. but it pays off. joining clubs or sports is a great way to talk and meet with people. but basically all you need to do is be confident in yourself, talk and meet with people, and be yourself. people will respect that
