I'm not too impressed with my local chippy. I've found a fantastic indian takeaway in my area, but sometimes you just want a good fish and chips. Can anyone recommend a chippy in Manchester?

  1. The one near the bus station in the city center. It's bang on.

  2. Armstrongs on Bury Old Road in Prestwich is very well rated/popular...it's famously home of the jumbo cod lol.

  3. The best pie chips and gravy I have ever had was from a chippy in Hurst Cross, near Ashton Utd football ground... fantastic!

I'm not from the Manchester area and was visiting Ashton to watch my team play there, so I don't know if this fits your criteria.

  4. On a recent trip to Bolton we went to "The Olympus". They do eat in or take away. We went into the restaurant part, excellent , fish, chips, tea, bread and butter, very tasty, excellent value. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting this town.

  5. Spotland Chippy in Rochdale! Its next to spotland stadium and its yummy and i think its even won a couple of awards!!
