I am setting up a 2.5 gallon mini tank! I am very experienced in the aquarium hobby and up to the challenge of a mini tank. I am trying to thing of small fish and other creatures I could put in there. I have thought of a betta, male guppies, cherry or ghost shrimp, mystery snail(Do you know of a smaller snail that will not overpopulate the tank? That is the only one I can think of!) , and that's all the things I can think of. The tank will have a filter and a heater. I will do twice weekly water changes. I do not want schooling fish b/c If i have schools I want to have 6+ and I do not have the room for that many in a tank that size. I also want it to be natural looking, not pink gravel and a bright purple betta, that would not look natural, so natural is more my style, what color Betta's do you think look natural? Maybe a white one...ooh yea, those are pretty, lol! Well yea..any more suggestions?

  1. A 2.5 gallon is not a humane, healthy environment for a betta fish and too small for most mystery snails, which will create a tremendous mess even with twice weekly water changes. I would recommend getting a larger tank. It will give you more options and happier pets.
