Good fishing spots in Alabama,Gulf shores?

Well i've been in the mood to try crabbing in the gulfshores, and i just got my pot, and chicken, im leaving the pot out on the pier were the boats docked by the hotel but i don't think i goin to get any, if at all legal crabs, so anyways were a good spot for me to lay the trap out? how many times should i lift it or just leave it for the whole day? and will i have any luck with leaving it out over night?

when i put mine out i use king fish or jack. the oilier the better. check just  once a day leave out over night if your sure it's safe, I've had them stolen before. when i was a kid we went off the mobile yacht club dock. used mesh baskets and chicken necks.
