  1. Hy's steak house for great steaks.  It's on King St.

  2. For delicious fish and chips, try Golden Crispy Restaurant at Jane and Weston Road.

  3. Salad King (Gould/Yonge)  good thai food

  4. Try the Old Spaghetti Factory or La Bouef tech

  5. The Old Spaghetti Factory....mmmm...I was there in grade 7 (4 years ago) and it was really yumy...not exactly sure where it is...google it for more i guess

  6. There are so many good restaurants in T.O.  My favourite for Italian Food has GOT to be Spuntini!

  7. Salad King!

The most amazing Thai food I'v ever had...you have got to try the spring rolls!  It's located on Gould Street at Yonge (near the Ryerson University campus - just north of Dundas Square)

  8. the Korean Grill on queen downtown has all this pre-marinated meat and seafood and your table has a built-in barbeque. you do an all-you-can-eat thing and grill it yourself. it is so much fun and i always leave so full. they also supply small side dishes and rice for everyone.

  9. We just tried a place called "Jerusalem" last weekend, and it was very good.  If you like Mediterranean food, it's worth a trip.  We went to the restaurant on Eglinton between Bathurst and the Allen, and I think there's another location up around Sheppard and Leslie.

  10. It really depends on the type of food you are looking for and what you are willing to spend.

The top chefs in the city have fantastic restaurants with atmosphere and good food combined but you will pay a fair bit for the evening out. Some places I'd recommend as far as excellent food and atmosphere would be Thuet, Lee, JK Wine Bar, North 44, Canoe, Auberge du Pommier, Sushi Kaji, Blowfish, Amaya, George, Spice Room, Spice Route (different place than Spice Room), Splendido, or Starfish to start.

If you are looking for something a little more budget friendly perhaps check out some of the off the beaten path places like Julies Cuban, Mitzi's (or Mitzi's Sister), Aunties & Uncles, Cafe Nervosa, Fressen (vegetarian), Irie Food Joint, Live Organic Food Bar, Mercatto, Phil's Original BBQ, Terroni, and of course Salad King as has already been mentioned.

Summerlicious is going on right now as well, it's a great way to check out some really nice restaurants on a budget. I've attached the link to the Toronto Life reviews so you can get an idea of some of the top picks for the participants in the event.

    Happy hunting!
