It has some pretty good restaurants with nice food - esp on west street . At good prices too.

Antibos at west one is a really modern, roomy and has a nice atmosphere. Downside is the menu choice as its a bit limited but what they do serve is delicious.

One of my faves is santinos on ecclesall road because its quaint, the staff are friendly and the food is really good. I also like looking at the art work for sale on the restaurant walls, gives it a nice touch.

However, i was told that santinos is going to be shutting down and taken over by a couple as the previous manager cannot afford the current payments, so I'm not exactly sure how long its going to be open for under that name.

I don't often venture to restaurants other than Italians or occasionally chinese but i do know that there are loads of different restaurants on London road, Japanese, vegetarian, Chinese, etc.

Also if your interested in travelling a bit out of sheffield then try the Millstone at Hathersage.
