  1. If you know where you will be staying, why don't you order from www.amazon.fr and get the books delivered there? If you tell me what kind of books you are looking for I can maybe tell you which libraries are more likely to have them available at all times. Also, where will you be staying?

You can look for bookstores in the French yellow pages:

    http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprof...

Enter "librairies" next to Qui? Quoi?

Enter Paris next to Où? If you want a specific arrondissement, enter the zipcode: for intance 75001 for the 1st, 75006 for the 6th, 75012 fo rthe 12th, etc. If you are staying in another town, just enter the name of the town instead of Paris.

  2. All mobiles numbers start with 06.(there are 10 digits in total)

The landlines start with different numbers according to the region . For instance, landlines in Paris start with 01, the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur start with 04.

As for bookstores, I don't know much. You can find whatever you want in FNAC (they have a website too).

  3. As an example, say you want to call a land line in Paris at phone number 01 xx xx xx xx.

From abroad you need to call +33 1 xx xx xx xx.

=> Drop the 0 out when calling from abroad.

As said before land lines start with 01, 02, 03, 04 and 05 and cell phone numbers start with 06.
