well i was happy enough yesterday that we won the series and glad that we were able to have that 8 game win streak.

yea as of right now the games not over yet and its going into the 8th inning and i'm not one to give up on my team till the end but its 9-2 and i've absolutely lost hope.

jon lester was too good i thought for sure earlier in the game he was gonna shut the yanks out again but we had that fifth inning which i thought was gunna be a rally start but a-rod sucks in these situations as usual and then we were only able to score 2 runs.

but yeah good job boston scored some runs in the first inning then big papi had that 2 run homer and then the rest of the sox' lineup knocked in some runs

but yeah and one question: how do you think the AL is gonna end? I think rays will fall and it'll be a race between the yanks and sox for first.

  1. Good game last ningt for the Red Sox but a good series for the Yankees taking 2 out of 3. I say the division comes down to the Yankees & Red Sox

  2. I think the Red Sox will prevail.

There's always the belief that the Yankees are an incredible offensive team. I think it is true but not this year. A-Rod is a stud but Jeter is now really a dozen homer bat and Abreu is more of a walks machine. The injuries to Matsui and Posada hurts and hurts bad but I just find it funny that people keep saying they needed Posada to play to have his bat in there and yet he has 3 home runs. I think this year, the Red Sox have the better, and more important, deeper lineup. They have so much depth.

I think the Red Sox also have better pitching and more importantly, they're younger. Mussina and Pettitte are doing great but with their age, you have to be concerned with injury and fatigue.

So I think the Sox win the division with around a 3 game margin.

  3. I blame Ponson. The guy was lobbin balls over the plate... He's kinda cocky in interviews too. I don't see him around for long...

  4. Tampa is too young and will fold under the pressure, the yankees bats have been terrible all season pretty much. I think the experience of the red sox will put them over the top of the other teams. The sox will take it because of their consistency throughout the lineup and the run production that comes from the whole lineup and not just a few players, which is what happens on the other teams.

  5. It was a GREAT game tonight. I am so glad Red Sox won... Now, I can rub this game into a lot of people... GO SOX!!!!!!!!!

  6. Well, I would want the Rays to win, because the BoSox or the Yanks will probably do really well in the postseason.

However, I would have to put my money on the Red Sox to win the AL, and Yanks through via Wild Card.

If that's the case, it will be another extremely fun playoffs. (Their success depends on how the Red Sox perform against the Angels in the upcoming week, and the Yankees continue being hot)

  7. I never thought anything less of lester. I thought he pitched pretty much the same way when we were in the bronx. He's done well.

As for your question, Yes I think you are right. The red sox and yankees will battle it out for first I don't think the rays will be able to keep up with us having more experience than they have.

As they say "its not over til the fat lady sings."

We aren't fat tho so lol.

    Go Sox. Goodluck.

  8. ya it will be be between redsox and yanks. unless tampa can keep it up.

    GO REDSOX

  9. Yankees win east, tampa falls maybe next year, red sox wild card

  10. I knew the Sox would get at least one. Heck, I picked them to take two of three, so as a Yankees fan, I'm quite happy getting two at Fenway. Sure, it was disappointing not to get the sweep, but the Yankees did what they needed to do. Got great pitching from Joba Chamberlain and Andy Pettitte, saw the offense keep it rolling, and served notice to Boston - and Tampa - that the AL East race will most definitely involve the Yankees. As usual.

Nice job by Boston to salvage one. But great job by the Yanks to take the series.

    Go Yanks!

  11. Good game for the Red Sox, good series for the Yankees.

The presence of a third team in the race is great. In past seasons it was almost a given that both the Red Sox and Yankees would make the playoffs. Bragging rights and home field advantage were the only things at stake. This year there is a legitimate chance that one of the two could miss the playoffs.

The Rays are so young which can hurt them (collapse under pressure) or help them (too young to realize what's at stake). My prediction is that the Rays will fade a little down the stretch and it will be the usual suspects in the playoffs.

The best news: the Rays are going to be very good for a few years to keep the division interesting.
