Good goal for the mile run next week?

I'm 15, not that active (I exercise a few times a week), am 5 ft 7, and like 105+ pounds (tall and skinny basically). Anyways we're running the mile next week in gym and I was wondering what a good goal would be (I'm a very goal oriented person). Although I'm not really in shape I like to think I'm a decent runner. What would be considered a decent time? Thanks!

  1. Im not a runner,or fit in any way, but have had to run a mile for the bus many times. I can do it in about 10 minutes. I dont know if thats any good, but I have never missed my bus, and should give you a time to beat.

    12mins- Not the best

  4. people say that anything below 10 minutes is a good mile, but i don't believe that. I think anything below 8:40 is a good mile, so u just have to practice because practiice  makes perfect

  5. well i believe that 9 minutes would be a wonderful goal to set for you. make it so that ur jogging the entire time. not running then stopping, running then stopping etc. you lose energy that way.

  6. 7 minutes is a good goal to strive for if you only have a week to do it
