Good/ healthy food for ramandan and fasting?

Ramadan is here and I was just wondering what are some foods that will keep your body energized and not make you thirsty or dehydrated.

For those of you who don't know...we eat before sunrise (we wake up and eat at like 4:30 am) and then we don't eat OR drink until sunset. So thats about 15-16 hours of no eating or drinking. So what are some best food for eating early in the morning that won't make you thirsty throughout the day and keep you energized. (ie. eating fried/greasy foods will just make you crave water all day long)

So... please give me some suggestions. Thank you.

  1. For me, I find it helps stave off the hunger longer if I eat a breakfast (suhoor) with a lot of protein in it. Eggs are good, for example. If I eat something like cereal I get hungry a couple of hours later, but if I eat eggs or some meat leftover from dinner I usually don't get bothered until around lunchtime.

As for the thirst, I haven't yet found anything that can really help with that too much. Drink at least a full glass of water in the morning, and more if you know it's going to be a hot day and you'll be outside. I like to brush my teeth after suhoor to get the taste of food out of my mouth and I think that helps a little bit.
