Good hobbies to take up?

My boyfriend is getting back surgery soon and is going to be bed ridden for 2-3 months.

He's going to get bored of tv and video games and reading, what else can he do with his limited mobility?

He could take up guitar (a smallish, travel size or even a ukelele or dobro might be easiest in bed), harmonica,recorder or keyboard. There's lessons and tons of information on YouTube and elsewhere online.

Knitting, needlework or other needlecrafts, including beading (with or without a loom), are perfect for anyone stuck in bed. They're compact, neat and remarkably absorbing.

Buy him some Sculpey or Fima clay. He can make Christmas ornaments (or whatever) for all your friends and family.

Magic Tricks!

Paint by numbers or fancy coloring books (go to doverbooks.com).

Really hard Solitaire games (there are books) and/or

crossword puzzles.

Origami (lots of books there too).

And, finally, yes, Yahoo Answers.
