Question:

Good homemade cage??

i have a 66quart plastic storage container and i was wondering if that could be turned into a good hamster cage..because i think mines to small..and im out of money at the moment..so let me know what u think..and if not...have any other ideals for cages?

  1. of course! but make sure there is reasonable air-flow


  2. Sure, just make sure there is a lot of holes so that they can breathe and that it closes tightly as they will get out. A great thing to do is to cut out a square in the top and put in some wire netting(I tried to find a picture for and example but I couldn't). Once again as long as it has room to play, food, water, plenty of air, somewhere to hide, and the box has been made escape proof then it should work.

    Oh and maybe save up a little bit of money for a real cage later.

  3. Just make sure you can lock the top on...hamsters are crafty and they will find a way out.

  5. UH??? I don't think that's a very good idea, maybe go to garage sales and find something cheap, but save up some money!
