  1. Hey! You sound just like me! I'll give you a list of story books to read and a list of books meant more for actually learning about horse care and such.

Anyways, So here are some of my favorite books which I have read. I'm sure you've heard of and probably read all the story book ones already. =P

    Story books:

    -Phantom Stallion Series (Terri Farley)

    -Heartland Series (Lauren Brook)

    -Black Beauty (Anna Sewell)

    Information books:

-Ask Monty; 150 Most common horse problems solved (Monty Roberts)

-The Horse Behaviour Problem Solver (Jessica Jahiel)

-The Horse Doctor is In (Brent Kelley)

    Enjoy!

  2. If you are going to be doing hunter/jumper then Hunter Seat Equitation by George Morris is essential:

Riding Logic by Wilhelm Museler is good too:

This is a good book about rehabbing a horse that has been off due to injury or other problem for awhile:

It would be helpful if you gave us a little more info about what type of book you are looking for...=)

  3. are you talking about horse stories or like horse manual?

for the latter there are like 50 billion

for the former for kids books there are silly little stories about kids who have ponies, gallop throuugh the woods and save the day, such as pony pals, heartland, saddle club etc.

for some semi decent kid horse books are the black stallion, black stallions colt,  ...thats alli  can think of.... oh! and everything by margurite henry!!!!!!!!

for like adult books theres riding lessons & sequal flying changes, chosen by a horse, black beauty....

just look around, they have some awesome stufff out there ;)

    good luck!

  4. the complete horse care manuel. its amazing! it tells you basicly everything! you can just go to barns and noble or borders and just look around, thats how i find my stuff!

  5. my brother is reading a book called the black stallion he seems to like it

  6. Storeys guide to training horses is the best training book i have ever bought. It tells you in detail how to imprint foals, break horses to ride, trailer train them,de spook them, train them to pull buggies...the list is endless.it also tells you how to re train a spoiled horse.I paid $20 for the book and its worth getting, trust me.if you really want to be a trainer get this book.

you can buy this book at any book store,co-op,or tractor supply co

  7. I suggest Musler's Riding Logic, all of the Pony Club manuals, the British Horse Society (BHS) manuals, and the manuals by the German National Federation.

  8. This could take me a while.............

    Phantom Stallion

Wild horse Island *Both by Terri Farley Read PS first though*

    Saddle Club

    Black stallion

    Thoroughbred

    Heartland

    *all series*

they are kinda kiddish, but they teach you a LOT. Thats pretty much where i learned all i know about horses.

and i'll edit when i think of more. Right this second i can't think of any. If you have questions about horses, you can IM me at mustangmare14 or email me @ Mustangmare14@yahoo.com I love to talk horses with people! lol
