  1. Run, Appaloosa, Run:  Disney,1966  Omak Suicide Race.

Girl finds horse, girl loses horse, girl finds horse, girl wins race.

The Electric Horseman,  1972: Robert Redford, Jane Fonda.

Rodeo star on downhill slide steals a race horse to rehab him.

  2. Black Beauty, The Horse Whisperer, Wild hearts can't be broken.... I have posted a website of the best 'horse movies' so check it out!

  3. National Velvet is my favorite horse movie ever. Black Beauty (the 90s one), and The Man from Snowy River are also wonderful.

  4. Black Beauty is the best!

  5. The man from Snowy River

    Hidalgo

    The Black Stallion

    All the Pretty Horses

    My Friend Flicka

    Just to name a few

  6. black beauty. seabiscuit, and spirit

  7. There's this really old movie called Gypsy Colt.  I think it's from the 1950's  It's kind of cheesy but kind of fun too.  It's about this girl's horse who gets sold to some guy far away.  So the horse breaks out of the stable and makes a 500 mile trek back home to the girl.  Kind of like Homeward Bound, but it's a horse instead of dogs.  Like I said, the plot is kind of cheesy but the stunts and tricks the horse does in the movie are AMAZING, some of the coolest I've ever seen.

  8. Black Beauty- its the life story of a horse and what he's been through and also kind of a love story between two horses... gives great perspective on the horses side of thinking; i kno i made it sound really boring but its a really good movie

Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmeron- A story about a horse who becomes leader of his herd. But with the settling of the west people are comeing near his land. he gets captured saving his herd and the us army tries to break him but cant. a native american takes interest in him and saves him. Spirit then falls in love with the native american's horse and trys to perswade it to run away with him, but then the army comes and attacks the native americans village and spirit saves the native american. wen spirit refuses to leave the side of his injered loved ones side, he gets captured and is forced to pull a train along train tracks still being built with other captured horses. he then realizes that the train tracks are heading straight towards his homeland... will he be able to stop the ruin of his homeland? will the army keep him captured forever? will he ever see his herd agian?

Hidalgio- a guy enters a horserace across the desert and no one thinks he can win, he is from another country and he is using a different breed of horse. he has to face the many obsticals of the desert and the hatered from many of the people, it sound wierd but its a really good movie

Seabiscut- the story about the real racehorse. the tiny horse that no one believes in and the big jocky that come from behind and end up winning a lot of the races... shows the realtionship between horse and jocky

Dreamer- a girl in KY that lives on a poor horsefarm with no horses. she convinces her dad not to put down a horse with an injery to the leg. the horse burns through the familys already low amount of money. the girl believes in the horse but no one else does. she wants it to go to the KY derby and believes it can defeat the odds and that it can make their family rich again... can it??

  9. I have not included 'movies' that are how-to documentaries about how to ride or work with horses.  More detailed descriptions of the movies listed can be found on imdb.com or netflix.com.  Any movie not described follows the generic plot line of: a kid meets a horse that no one else can control/see the potential in, the child is the only one to bond with the horse and together they win a race/prove themselves "adults"/get friends/etc.  I have noted my personal favorite movies with a triple star before the title.

  10. Hey, Flicka is a really amazing movie: Its about a girl named Katy whose dad owns one breed of horse only. Katy finds a wild mustang mare and nicknames her Flicka. The movie is based on Katy training Flicka, adventuring with  Flicka, and many surprises! Hope you watch the movie!

  11. I LOVE the movies Dreamer and Flicka!

They do have 1 or 2 sad parts, but I think it rlly makes the movie. They are defiantly my favourite horse movies!

Here is a link to where you can watch these movies if you want....

    Dreamer; http://www.watch-movies.net/movies/dream...

    Flicka; http://www.watch-movies.net/movies/flick...

Some other good horse movies are...

Black Beauty (a classic, I'm sure you know it, if not seen it!),

Spirit (again, I'm sure you know it),

    Horse Whisperer,

    Hidalgo,

    Seabiscut,

Racing Stripes (not exactly about a horse, its about a zebra, but a horse movie... racing horse movie).

    Hope This Helps, Good Luck!

P.S. The reason I only gave you a link to watch Dreamer and Flicka, is because they are my ALL-TIME favourite movies in the world (especially Flicka, its amazing!). They are really amazing movies!! I love them, and I would strongly reccommend them!

  12. Flicka, The Man From Snowy River, Touching Wild Horses. Those are a few of my favourites... Let me know if this helps!

  13. I'm an Electric Horseman Fan too:

It's about an old drunken, worn out world's champion cowboy and his rescue of a drugged out race horse and their journey from the stage in Las Vegas, NV to the hills where the now straight stallion is turned loose with a herd of mares and the chase that entailed in route by police, corporate biggies (They owned the horse) and the media (Jane Fonda).

    My Pal Trigger

It's an old Roy Rogers and Trigger movie about the fictionalized tale of how Roy got Trigger.  Actually he bought him the year following the release of "Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn (Olivia De Haviland rode Trigger.) Trigger was owned by the Fats Jones stable and Roy bought him for $3.500.00.

    Note:  Julianne,

Gypsy Colt starred Country Gentleman we all know him better as FURY.

  14. The Horse Whisper :)    My favorite movie!

  15. National Velvet and International Velvet

I didnt see national velvet but international velvet is about a girl that rides for the olympic team in three day eventing youngest ever underdog story. Name of movie relates to horse

  16. Theres one called the Derby Stallion that never hit the big screen. Its about a guy in High school who deciedes whether to persue baseball which his father want or horse back riding. He knows an old man who taught him how to steeple chase when he decides. The old man buys him a $5000 dollar horse and enters him in the race he won as a boy. On race day the old man dies and lives him his racing silks. The the boy wins the race. Zac Efron is in it.

  19. Black Beauty is great.  It is kind of sad at points though.  It follows the life of a horse from when it's a foal until it is sold as a working horse and is not taken care of well.  It's such an awesome movie though.

The Horse Whisperer is great too.  It's about a little girls dad who buys a race horse that broke it's ankle(I think) on the racetrack and they nurse it back to health and eventually take him back to the track.  Very good movie.
