Hey there, soI was wondering if anybody knew of any good horse sites, like that has some good info on them. I'm a more of an advanced rider, but I'm looking for a site that has like colors, markings, parts of hte saddle, I know baisc car of a horse, but I'm also looking for something that explains if a horse is like sick, like hoof problems, just things of that nature, I really want to expand my knowledge on horses, I know a good amount, but not as much as I'd like to. :] Thanks!

  1. Sorry, but I can't resist. Here's the site that I'm currently addicted to.

It's not exactly conventional info like what you may be looking for, but I've learned a tremendous amount from it especially about conformation and just a ton of other things. Plus it doesn't hurt that it's entertaining:) Enjoy

  2. http://www.sustainabledressage.com/index...

interesting reading, although i DON'T agree with all of it, i tend to think that i want to hear every opinion i can before i make my own.. since the more information you have the better you can understand it, and the "better" your opinion will be.

i know its all old school, but there are some REALLY GREAT books that talk about everything you need to know..i brought mine into the riding camp i work at, and as i was teaching i was learning things!

and kudos for wanting to learn more, my least favorite thing in an equestrian is someone who doesn't want to bother learning more, or someone who thinks they are the best.

EDIT: even though it is a "dressage website" they talk about concepts that apply to all english riding sports, so the things they talk about, false results and forced positions apply to dressage AND hunter/jumper

  3. Liverystable.net has good articles.  On the home page, click "More Horse Articles" for a list of all the topics...there are ones on Horse Colors, How to Tie a Quick-Release Knot, Safety Tips for Handling Horses, etc.

    Another neat one is

    Good luck!
