If you are going to spend most of the time outside the hotel, I'd suggest Tamlinadu Hotels, which is affordable, well maintained and with decent staff. We stayed for couple of days there and were satisfied with the service.

If you want a better place, I'd suggest Hotel Vallyview. This has excellent accom facilities and nice attached restaurant.
