  1. go to www.frommers.com. Has a list of good budget hotels.

  2. Hotel Esmerelda

Great location, great area to walk in. Cheap.

  3. My favorite Little Left Bank Hotel is the St. Andre des Arts. I've stayed there dozens of times over the last 35 years. http://www.123france.co.uk/en/0/hotel-sa...

Its very plain and basic. No TVs, no minibars, no room service, no health clubs, no swimming pool, no elevators, no all you can eat breakfast buffet. Breakfast (included in the price) is just Cafe au lait, tea, or hot chocolate with a basket of fresh crusty bread with butter and jam.

But its location cannot be beat. You're a few minutes walk to Notre Dame, the Cluny, the Luxembourg Gardens, Conciergerie, the Louvre, the Place St. Michel, The Eglise St. Germain, and many other tourist sights. The Odeon metro stop is on the next block. The area is filled with bars, cafes, restaurants and food shops.

The staff are friendly, the patrons tend to be travel wise repeat visitors to Paris, and everything is very laid back and cozy.

  4. I would recommend Hotel Delambre b/c it was simple yet a wee-bit expensive since I last visited.  Five euro hike.  It's another option nonetheless.  I have enjoyed since going to hostels that are fully complete with a shower/toilet setup and quiet depending on your trip time but most of all cheap/inexpensive.

  5. Hotel Tiquetonne

50 euros a night for 2 with shower/toilet in room

    great location & clean
