Good hotels to stay at in new york?

Question

I'm wanting to take my mum to new york for her 60th birthday next year and i really am finding it hard to choose a hotel.

i was looking for one that does not break the bank but has some luxury.

any ideas?

Holiday Inn Express gives you $99 USD for a night, and you get free parking and a free breakfast from 6 - 11:30 am. They also have freebies like cookies and water in the lobby, and a fridge in the room. You could even use their microwaves. I recommend this place.
