We need energy folks.

Either we get it from fossil fuels, import Russian Gas, build nuclear plants, use our 300 years supply of underground coal or try the untried wind technology with turbines which need constant maintenance and supervision?

There's no easy answer.

  1. Renewables and on the cost of power producers please...

electricity cost increased due to a lack of competition and phenomenon which would be too complex to explain here...

So basically companies like E.on cashed 10 billions in windfall profits and it´s time to have the courage to be demanding !!!

Coal investments will lock in an old carbon intensive fuel for the next 40 years... knowing how we will have to reduce CO2 emissions, the investment seems from the beginning on a bad idea.

But energy savings are the real solution since they often happen at negative costs

  2. We can easily make do with what we have by using it more efficiently: the new proposales to phase out inefficient lighting will reduce demand by the equivalent of 4 power stations!
