i'm going camping with my boyfriend this weekend and i wanted to know some good ideas for things for us to do while camping. we're going canoeing one day and hiking. we're also bringing our dog. we're going for 2 days so i need some interesting ideas about how to spend our time.

also, are there any ideas for things to bring - besides the obvious - that i might not have thought about. thanks!

  1. Between those activities and camp chores: cooking, gathering firewood etc, those two days will go by so fast, you won't NEED to plan anything else.

  2. About 34 yrs ago or so I was dateing many differant women in every possible way from dinner, shows, walk on the beach. for the life of me I couldn't deceide which one I wanted to date twice.I was home from viet nam all were nice but became frustrated and went single for a while.Bumped into an ald friend who set me up with his sister on a blind date she was living with her dad in a differant country and was here for the summer,There dad was military. we had a good time for a while untill she said she would rather be fishing in the rain than hanging out in this smoke filled resturant/bar. 2 days later we were camping no tent open fire used a tarp [My choice] in case it rained sleep in sleeping bags out under the stars in Bear/Mountain lion country-mind you. Had a blast the fishing at the creek, then cleaning them together and cooking them on the spot with in an hour of catching them we were cooking them,And may I tell you she showed me a trick or 2 about cleaning fish. Cooking marshmellos on a stick no special forks burned my hand more than once she too.Making love under the stars with only God watching.Sitting listening to the wood noise. telling spooky storys to each other she was more than a date.I made that woman my Wife she is not with us any more but see her out in the woods all the time> I can't make it for a while working to make life a little easyer for the grand kids but say hi for me and please. I don't care what the wildlife officer says or the state department the only cure for an agressive animal [and no she wasn't killed by a Bear] is Bear spray works good on humans too,A loud whistle and a good 45auto. Have fun and don't forget the skinny dipping. Note: extra towels and a good thing nowadays a pack of those moist toweletts.

  4. what porters said, but, of course we don't know where you live or where you're camping but good games that don't get blown off the table in the wind are dominoes, Yahtzee, zips (all dice games) also if you are on or near a stream I would take a snorkel and fins and my stream fishing stuff. My kids always liked playing Frisbee golf using the trees around the campgrounds we stayed at. take a couple of good books and share a hammock in the afternoon shade.

  5. You can do some fishing, and you can take stuff for smores.

  6. One of the best things about camping is enjoying the outdoors. It is nice to just sit back and listen to the insects & birds. Bring a camera for sure. You can never take too many pictures in life, because once the moment is gone it is gone and memories fade. I recently went camping and we used a trivial pursuit card deck to go around the circle asking the questions, didn't use the board or pieces. A good book or magazine is good too. And if you are camping where there is a creek, lake, or stream bring a swimming suit. There is nothing better, especially if it is a hot day.

And of course, the obvious, bug spray or repellent of some sort and sunscreen.

  7. You will forget the Number1 thing to bring is your first aid kit. Cuts, scratches, bruises ,sunburn, insect bites, etc.Remember when you were small  A good band aid helps everything.

Dog food, water, soap, toilet paper, cell phone. for emergencies, etc.

It sounds like you have the days planed so let`s concentrate on the evenings.best part tell scary stories at night around the campfire.Or play hide and seek.sounds childish but finding someone in secret places is a very good spark for romance.

  8. fishing and bring stuff to make smores (don't forget to bring skewers)!!
