Ive already decided that my birthday party is going to be 50s themed and its a dress up do... so im coming as audrey hepburn and one of my best girls is coming as Marliyn Monroe...

I dont want to do the whole dancing thing, because truth be told I SUCK and have two left feet (:

So I was wondering if you all had any good ideas of what else I can do?

oh and nothing arty preferrably..

  1. Your costumes sound more hollywood than 50s. Most 50s parties are sock-hop, soda-pop, grease etc. like parties.  If I got an invite to a 50's party that is the type of party I would think it was.  So, you might want to name it something else.

  2. you cant have  a 50 party with out dancing everyone in the 50s dances the night away

  3. You can have a hula hoop contest:) ...  You need to at least play 50's music, or it won't seem like a 50's party!  Get "The Twist" by Chubby Checker - ANYONE can do the Twist!    In fact, there's also Peppermint Twist and Dear Lady Twist,  and others too:)  Get a CD that has the best of the 50's on it;  or if you have Direct TV, there's a channel (maybe 803) that plays continuous 50's music.   You could rent "Rebel Without a Cause" and play that movie (James Dean); or "Grease" or any Elvis movie.......

  4. Well you can still have it themed 50's but dance to music that you like... not music of that time period...

    what about a bowling party...

    roller skating party...

    grese themed party

  5. Get some Elvis and Ricky Nelson music.
