Good jobs for college student? flexible to schedule more than minimum wage?

i am 18 years old and a college freshman i have a budget of 650 a month for rent WITHOUT a job and i need to find a job that would pay enough for me to move into an apartment (which runs about 1000-1300 for a one bedroom) plus utilities, gas, insurance, etc. i have only had one job before and i need to know where a good place to start would be for soneone with no work experience.

i live in the orange county area. if that helps

  1. What the above person said was great -- substitute teaching is a really good idea, but you have to have a clear schedule from 7 - 3 or so, which you probably don't.

    What you should do is go to your school.  Every school has a department that helps students get jobs, and everyone who hires through the school knows what they're getting in to, and can work with student schedules.  

    You could sign up at www.sittercity.com, and be a part-time, after school nanny, picking up the kids from school and watching them until the parents got home.  This would give you at least $10/hr, and wouldn't take up too much time.


  2. I substitute for the school. They pay 60 dollars a day and I only work 4 hours so heck yeah I'm in. I work when I want to and get paid good I'm happy as a lark. If I work 15 days out of 30 I bring home about 800 dollars a month but I only did that one I only work about 10 days a month. Look around and see what youcan find.
