  1. Look into taking the Nuke Test (math and physics heavy).  There are 3 nuclear options (ET, EM, and MM), and you really don't get to pick, only submit a preference.

It's a tough route, but worth it.  2 years of school (or more) before you even see a real ship.  Long hours on occasion (12+ during some parts of training), but graduation from the pipeline alone is worth $50k/year+ on the outside.  It's a 6 year obligation, because of those 2 years of school.  Bonuses for re-enlistment have the highest caps ($75 - 100k).  Advancement is rapid.  You get proficiency pay (extra $150 - 450 per month, depending on time and qualifications).  The Nuke program has the highest rate of officer program submissions and acceptances.  And best of all, when you're done, you have skills that can land you a 6 figure job within a couple of years of getting out.

Be warned though, once you mention Nuke to a recruiter it's hard to get them to talk about anything else =).  1 Nuke = 2 enlistees on their quotas.

  2. AZ - air conditioning and office environment...also you will part of an air wing and will not be part of ship's company
