  1. Most of the stuff you mentioned can be run on pretty much EVERY modern laptop. (Microsoft Office, Watching movies, surfing, etc.)

The GeForce 8400S with 128MB of memory isn't really going to cut it for gaming... it MIGHT work with desert combat because it's an older game, but if you intend on playing any newer games, you're going to want to get something a little more powerful.

  2. I would have to say no. The PC's specification are good enough to do the work, but the chassis is too flimsy. You will have problems with dirt, dust and heat, and that's not withstanding conditions in the field. All that it will take is for somebody to dive for cover and to knock it off of your desk for the laptop to smashed beyond use.

My personal recommendation would be that you invest in a fully hardened laptop. They will take knocks and spills 100 times better than a regular laptop and I've seen people pull the HDs out intact after the rest of the laptop has been shot up with an AK-47.

If the worst comes to the worst they can even protect you from shrapnel.

  3. can,y not

  4. That should be good enough. even the GeForce 8400 card would be enough for gaming. maybe you won't be able to put all the game graphical settings on max but it will still play them and look good. 3 gb of ram is good and the intel core 2 duo is good enough. you should be fine.

  5. bla bla bla i cant hear you

  6. Yes, it will run them both fine on about medium settings, and as for photoshop, it may take a bit long to produce a file, but it will certainly do.

As for the upgrade to vista, i wouldn't do that until you really need it, because for the specs of the computer, it will run Windows XP super fast, compared to Vista.
