my little one is 14 month old. i heard from the age of 18 months Montessori schools take children for education. I live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I Google searched and found too many schools around. don't know what to choose. my family income is 55K and if the fees are too high can my child get a scholarship or some aid?

what factors do I consider to choose a school?

my child is not yet potty trained. can she be potty trained in 4 months?

she still don't know how to eat all the food by herself. she eats with her hands, but not good enough

If possible pls give me all the details you know. as i don't know anything abt private schools

Many Montessori schools have infant programs as well.

I don't know any Canadian Montessori Schools well enough to give an opinion on them.  But I wouldn't trust any web site to tell me what school is good.  The first thing you should do is call them and talk to them and see what kind of vibe you get from the school.  It might just be a simple question like, "I've heard a lot about Montessori.  What is it?"  Montessori teachers love talking about it...even if we do hear the question every day.  Simply calling schools may eliminate half of them.

If you like what you hear so far, schedule a visit.

As far as costs, scholarships, etc.  that is all determined by the school itself.  Schools are not cheap to run and many small, private schools are struggling to simply stay in business even if their classes are full.  But there might be some in your area that offer scholarships.  The only way to find out is to ask the school.

  2. the schools which take the kids really so young are expensive. u can take the kid to community centre this age and start her real school @age 3. goto the schooltour  and check which one is good for ur kid. you can start saving for money from now if u once know the fees

  3. I wouldn't put my kid in a school until at least 3. Get an Au-pair, costs you about 14,000, a good school cost you about 10,000 to 12,000. With an Au-pair, you are more flexible and they can teach your kid stuff one on one. I would get a European Au-pair.
