Good morning, from Reno/Sparks, NV-USA: just got up(wow), how are things in your neck of the woods?

Good morning(it's still morning here - little after 9:00 a.m.); Tim Russert show just concluded on TV.

I say (wow), because I'm usually up earlier; but stayed up late last night, and the sleeping meds. I take, seemed to have worked too well last night.

Anyone on here by chance from say: Timbuktu(Mali, W. Africa); Reykjavik, Iceland; or perhaps even Lhasa, Tibet? Thought not.

Nothing much going on in this neck of the woods; Summer, seems to be having difficulty in establishing itself: having a series of rather gloomy, overcast days.

Re-potted a glorious "poinsettia" I got for Christams(it's no longer glorious). Was told to place in a closet for 2-3 wks., and then bring it back out; it would probably re-sprout and be alright: keeping my fingers crossed(say a prayer for it, please).

Just began "computering" about 4 yrs. ago(am 73), and only now beginning to feel a modicum of confidence. How about you? Expert, neophyte?

  1. Afternoon is upon us here in the west.

I played for morning services, and am now (or at least should be) preparing for our evening service at the assisted living facility.

... sorry, my green thumb is probably about the color of the wilted leaves of your red or white poinsettia; though I vaguely remember hearing that putting them in a dark, cool closet for a while is a known CPR treatment for that particular kind of plant.

  2. Hi,

Things are going ok here for me in Rochester, MN.  It's a beautiful day, with temperatures finally in the low 80's.  It's been gloomy and rainy for several days, but it's wonderful out today.

I've been working like crazy on an art project that's due tomorrow, and I finally finished it.  It turned out alright.  Whew!

Now I have been studying for my final exams which are this week.  I had to give up because my brothers are playing video games and it's really loud.

I hope your poinsettas resprout alright.  Keeping my fingers crossed =).

On the computer...I'd say I'm competent.  But, I'm definetly not an expert!

    Have a nice week.

  3. My neck of the woods is in New Mexico...not really any woods...just dirt, sand and tumble weeds.

Not much going on here. I am going to put a second coat of water proofing on my porch and then its off to visit my sister in jail.

As far as PC skills go I wouldn't say I am an expert but I do know a few things and can get around pretty easily.

Just remember it really is difficult to mess up a PC permanently and so just keep playing around and learning new things. If things get messed up that's where "system restore comes in handy"

In closing I hope some jackass doesn't report this and you get a violation for chatting.

Rarely do people stop and simply ask "How are you doing?"

Oh sure people always say "How are you doing" but they keep walking...whats the d**n point of asking if you don't care enough to stop and listen, right?

Good luck with your poinsettia...I have no advice for you...as I have no clue.

    Have a great day...
