Good motorcycle for beginners?

Okay so I'm getting a motorcycle I'm like 5'7 with not too much arm strength, but I'm workin on it. I know that eventually I will find the perfect bike, but right now I'm only a beginner so I need a good bike for beginners. I do want a bike thats looks hott though. Like the street racing type bike, I was tryna find a nice lookin 125cc but they all look like old people scooters..Not that I have anything against old people...on scooters. I just want an awesome lookin bike that will make little kids go "cooooooollll!". If not a 125cc maybe a 250cc? I dont know. I'm just really into bikes and I love just cruising on them and just being me, my bike, and the concrete. What a rush..I mean if its that cool from the back I know it would be even better riding alone. And I have to have something that looks better than my brothers(a little sibling rivalry? Yes.).

  1. First, take someone with you when looking at bikes, preferably someone who knows bikes.

Don't let your eyes overwhelm your common sense, Stick to a small cc bike, 125 to 250 max. Something to have fun on and not be scared to death riding.

Sit on the bike making sure that both feet are on the floor and  you're comfortable.

Lay down the bike, if the seller will allow you to do so.  If you can't right it, then its too heavy for you.

I love when I can overpower a bike . With your physique, the 125cc is perfect.

Enjoy your ride until you develop experience and other things will follow, allowing you to step up to another class.

    Good riding.

  2. bLu, its not all about strength when you ride, its more about technique.  I read about soo many people saying, "start on a 125 or 250..." why not start on a 600?  I'll guarantee you kids will be saying "coooollll".  My friend, who is a girl by the way, is about your height and kinda frail looking (I'm sorry) has a GSXR 600 as her first bike and she can handle it just fine.  Take a safety course, you don't need a lot of arm strength to ride a 600 you just have to know what your doing.

  3. This website is great for beginner bikers.  The forums will help answer any questions you've got and the reviews of bikes are great.  Check it out.

  4. Not to be rude like the other guys lol.

    I would suggest a 250cc cruiser

learn on that then get something like a 600cc Honda Shadow

it will definatley make the kids go "cooooooool", i do all the time :D

  5. Why not just search that question some little kid ask it 1000 times aday

  6. Right now people are getting ripped off buying the Ninja 250cc for $5,000 when it's only $3495 so I'd wait till next years model comes out and you can find a barely used 08 model for the low low price.

  7. how much do you want to spend??

    really nice 125cc race replica...

but would suggest an older bike to start with...   lots cheaper when you throw it down the road....

so look for a 125 two stroke..   light & easy to ride..

& some of the sports bikes in this size look very cool....

  8. For the 400th time today get either a 250, 600, 650, 750, 1000 I really don't care as long as this question never gets asked again.

  9. It sounds like you are more into the idea of riding.  You should really know about this:

    That leaves a permanent scar.

I ride and I know the dangers - so I take less risk.

If you still want to look cool, 125cc and not even 250cc will do.  Get something like my old Kawasaki Vulcan 500.  It is not a racer but really "pretty" cruiser.  Women used to say how pretty the bike looked.

And it is easy to ride for beginner and powerful enough to grow into.

    Good Luck...
