Good movie editing program??

Question

ANyone know of a FREE good movie editing program for the computer through Firewire from a camcorder with Mini DV tapes?

Also, can anyone answer me if I can really transfer the files back onto the Mini DV tape??

WMM is the best of a bad bunch if you want a free editor.  You can write your video back to the camcorder if it has DV In enabled.  That's common for MiniDV camcorders in the US but less so in Europe - European tax laws increase the tax if the camcorder can act as a VCR, so the manufacturers disable it!  Some of them can be hacked to re-enable it though!!

There should be Windows movie maker on your computer if you have a computer with microsoft.

If you are using windows you can download Movie Maker..mac has imovie

You should be able to load it via firewire on your computer..edit it an dthen dump it back to dv tape.
