Question:

Good music schools in the U.S.?

I currently attend the McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It's okay, but i'd prefer to live elsewhere (the winter is unbearable.) I've kind of browsed the web for some good music schools but every one of them are up in the air it seems like. I'm a piano player and am more interested in songwriting and contemporary styles of music...not so much classical. Any suggestions?

  1. Oberlin - Ohio

    Juilliard - New York

New England Conservatory of Music - Massachusetts

Berklee College of Music - Massachusetts

    Peabody Institute - Massachusetts

    If you want moderate temperature?

There's several acceptable universities within the Seattle Area. It doesn't usually get below 40 in the winter.

    University Of Washington - Seattle

    Pacific Lutheran University - Tacoma

University of Puget Sound - Tacoma

Excellent Universities. UW is huge, but PLU and UPS are smaller schools where the professors are often willing to give you more 1 on 1 time, let you call them at home and offer more services.

    Consider this.
