Okay, so...when you go to bed at night and have turned all your appliances off - or most of them, what do you keep on?

an electric footprint?

1. I have an electric clock by my bed.

2. My heating and hot water goes off but come on again before I'm awake - does anyone really want to wake up in the cold?

3. The fridge.

4. The freezer

So what do you leave on while you're asleep?

Led nighlights to not have to turn on lights when getting a drink or going to the restroom. . .

Have an on demand water heater. . .

Energy efficient fridge and freezer. . . we use the outdoors in the wintertime like they did less than a century ago. . .

Have a recycled windup clock. . .

Our aquariums are on timers. . .

Our heat is provided by corn pellet stoves. . . very cost effective and a renewable source of energy. . .

We have water resevoirs. . .

Can't wait to install a wind turbine and solar panels!!!

2nd answer:  You can also put all your misc. appliances/electronics on power strips to totally shut them off when not in use.  It is amazing how much stuff sucks up the energy on standby :)

Anything that cant be turned off, and electronics that go red when in standby like tv, dvd player plastation ect, but nothing else

The fridge and freezer, The fish tank heaters and filters and the bathroom light for my little girl in case she needs to go to the toilet.
