Question:

Good online homschooling program?

This year I was homeschooled because of personal problems, which should be fixed by the next school year. But I like homeschooling, and I want to stick with it, and my mom said OK. But only if it's an online program.

I am entering 5th grade next school year. I saw a very good one, 3dlearn, but it is for 7th grade and up (some people say 5th grade, but the site says 7th grade). It is a 3d campus, and I was wondering if there were any other online 3d campusus for younger grades? If not, are there any that are very good?

My mom said she doesn't worry about price, but I do, so if there is a cheap/good one out there, then that is what we need.

Otherwise, just good.

  1. k12.com is great. You sound very bright so if money isn't an option, Laurel Springs also is a good option!

  2. I'm also impressed.  You are more articulate that many of the high school students who post here.  If you like 3dlearn, you may want to go ahead and try it even though it is marketed toward 7th graders.  In homeschooling, you can move at your own pace and do not have to limit yourself to a particular grade.

Here are some other computer based courses you may want to look into:

    Good luck!

  3. Wowie Zowie.   You are very bright and very articulate for a 4th grader.   Judging from your research abilities, your ability to express yourself, your spelling and grammar.....go for the 7th grade program.   Who says you are in 4th grade?   Take a placement test and see if you don't qualify for middle school placement.

  4. I'm using an online program called Southern Baptist Academy.  They offer grades K-12. There are also other branches off of Southern Baptist Academy. You might want to check out those too. They provide lesson plans, automatic grading, and you are assigned a teacher you can talk to online for every subject.  I personally haven't done very well with this curriculum because I find the lessons too complicated because I have a.d.d. and I find it hard to sit at a computer for a long time. But you sound like a very intelligent child who could succeed in this type of program.

    Best of luck to you!
