Good or bad grade on AP Summer Essay??

Is a 6 out of 9 (on AP scale)okay on a four page long summer literary critique on the "Metamorphosis?"

Not the best grade, but it's passing. And since it's the beginning of the year, you can still improve. 8 or 9 are considered to be the best. Anything above 6 is a good essay.
